CAT 2026 Notification Out: IIM Registration from 3 Aug, Exam on 29 Nov

The Indian Institutes of Management have released the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 notification on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. CAT is the gateway examination for admission to MBA/PGP and other management programmes at the 21 IIMs as well as hundreds of other participating institutes across India. Candidates with a bachelor's degree (minimum 50% marks, 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) from a recognised university are eligible to apply; final-year undergraduate students may also register provisionally. The exam is a computer-based test assessing quantitative ability, verbal ability and reading comprehension, and data interpretation and logical reasoning. Registration for CAT 2026 will be open from 3 August to 15 September 2026 on the official portal. After the exam, shortlisted candidates go through Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI) rounds conducted separately by each participating institute before final admission offers are made.
