GATE 2027 Notification Out: Registration from 27 August, Exam in Feb 2027

IIT Madras, the organizing institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027, has released the official notification confirming the registration and exam schedule at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. GATE scores are used for admission to M.Tech/M.E/PhD programmes at IITs, NITs and other institutes, and are also accepted by several PSUs for recruitment. Registration for GATE 2027 will open on 27 August 2026 and close on 27 September 2026 without a late fee; candidates can still register with a late fee until 5 October 2026. As per the official notification, registration through DigiLocker is mandatory for all Indian nationals, so candidates should verify their DigiLocker account before the window opens. The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across three weekends — 6–7 February, 13–14 February and 20–21 February 2027. Results are scheduled to be announced on 19 March 2027.
