SSB Constable to SI (Non-GD) 2026: PET/PST From August, 1194 Vacancies

The Sashastra Seema Bal has moved its Constable to Sub-Inspector (Non-Gazetted, Non-GD) 2026 recruitment drive into the physical test stage. Candidates who applied online between 21 March and 20 April 2026 for the 1194 vacancies spread across Head Constable, Assistant Sub-Inspector, and Sub-Inspector cadres in technical, tradesman, and paramedical streams will now undergo the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), scheduled to commence in the third week of August 2026, per the official notice issued on 29 July 2026. Eligibility for the drive varies by post and cadre, with minimum educational qualifications ranging from Class 10 pass to a relevant diploma or degree depending on the trade applied for, along with prescribed height, chest, and physical fitness standards for the PET/PST round. Shortlisted candidates can find their PET/PST call letters and centre-wise schedule on the official SSB recruitment portal. After clearing the physical round, candidates will sit for a written Computer Based Test, followed by a skill or trade test where applicable, document verification, and a final medical examination before the merit list is prepared.
