SSC CHSL 2026 Notification Out: 2,536 Vacancies, Apply Online by 7 October

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) 2026 notification, inviting applications for Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts across various central government ministries and departments. The notification carries 2,536 tentative vacancies, which may be revised before the final selection process. To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board, and must be between 18 and 27 years of age as on 1 August 2026. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per government norms. Online applications can be submitted at ssc.gov.in from 7 September 2026 to 7 October 2026, with fee payment permitted until 8 October 2026. Candidates who need to correct errors in their submitted forms can use the correction window scheduled for 14–16 October 2026. Selection will proceed through Tier-I (a Computer Based Examination), followed by Tier-II (a descriptive paper), and a skill/typing test for posts that require it. Exact exam dates for Tier-I and Tier-II will be announced separately by SSC in due course.
