SSC CHT 2026: Vacancy Revised to 303, Paper-I in Aug-Sep

The Staff Selection Commission notified the Combined Hindi Translators Examination (CHTE) 2026 on 23 April 2026 for Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, Senior Translator and Senior Translation Officer posts, with 84 tentative vacancies at the time. Through a revised tentative vacancy notice issued on 9 July 2026, SSC increased the total to 303 posts, with an additional 15 vacancies reserved for Persons with Disabilities. Vacancies are spread across ministries and departments including Defence, Home Affairs, Finance, Railways and the Department of Posts; the Comptroller & Auditor General of India and the Department of Posts account for the largest shares of the revised intake. Candidates who applied online between 23 April and 14 May 2026 will sit for Paper-I (Computer-Based Test), which SSC has scheduled for the August-September 2026 window, with sectional timing introduced this year. Candidates who clear Paper-I will be called for Paper-II, a descriptive translation test, before final selection.
