UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist 2027: 127 Vacancies, Apply Online by 22 Sept

UPSC has released the notification for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2027 (CGSPE 2027), inviting applications for 127 vacancies across Group A and Group B posts in the Geological Survey of India, Central Ground Water Board and related departments. The notification (Examination Notice No. 01/2027-GEOL) was issued on 2 September 2026. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Chemistry or Hydrogeology (subject depending on the post applied for) from a recognised university, and must be between 21 and 32 years of age, with standard age relaxations for reserved categories as per Government of India norms. Eligible candidates can apply online only, through UPSC's official portal, from 2 September to 22 September 2026 (up to 6 PM). Selection follows the Commission's standard pattern: the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for 10 January 2027, followed by the Main (written) Examination on 19-20 June 2027 for candidates who clear the prelims, and a Personality Test for those who qualify the mains.
