UPSC Principal & Vice-Principal Recruitment 2026: 828 Posts, Apply by 17 Aug

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications for 828 Principal and Vice-Principal posts in the Education Department, Government of NCT of Delhi. Of the total vacancies, 124 are for Principal and 704 for Vice-Principal, both to be filled through direct recruitment. The online application process began on 25 July 2026, and while the original deadline was 14 August 2026, UPSC has extended the application window to 17 August 2026. Candidates should apply through the UPSC ORA (Online Recruitment Application) portal. Eligibility requires a Master's Degree along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). Principal applicants additionally need 10 years of teaching experience as a PGT or TGT, while Vice-Principal applicants need at least 2 years as PGT or 3 years as TGT. The application fee is Rs 25 for General/OBC/EWS male candidates; SC/ST, PwBD, and all female candidates are exempted from the fee. Selection will be through a two-stage process: a Combined Recruitment Test (CRT), a pen-and-paper objective test scheduled for 1 November 2026, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.
