The Union Cabinet approved the nationwide rollout of PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs) on 7 July 2026, a ₹60,000 crore, five-year scheme to modernise 1,000 government ITIs for industry-aligned vocational training.
